Dr Malek Nassar is an obstetrician Gynecologist who completed his studies in Medicine and Gynecology at the Faculty of Medicine at Saint Joseph University and Hotel Dieu de France in Beirut.
Choosing fetal medicine as a specialty, he completed a 3-year fellowship training in the Department of world-renowned Professor Yves Ville in France.
In 2008, aspiring to bring the best care to pregnant women and their newborn, through the application of the latest developments in fetal medicine, he founded the Prenatal Diagnostic Clinic.
This was the first clinic with a dedicated center for Materno-Fetal medicine offering level 3 fetal ultrasound, invasive procedures (Amniocentesis and chorionic villous sampling) as well as non-invasive prenatal testing. He developed and nurtured a professional collaboration with colleagues and obstetricians working in different hospitals, throughout Beirut and across Lebanon.
In 2009, Dr. Nassar joined CMC (Clemenceau Medical Center-Beirut) where he played a pivotal role in the development of the maternal and fetal medicine services on offer.
In 2019, he joined Hotel Dieu de France Hospital where he established a fetal medicine unit offering advanced services including fetal surgery and specialised fetal ultrasound.
In 2021 Dr Nassar joined as a part time member of the team at FMGC.
Dr. Nassar is actively involved in professional societies, serving as a board member of the Lebanese Perinatology Society and the Lebanese Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology (LSOG). He is also a member of the International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology (ISUOG). Additionally, he is a lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine, Saint Joseph University.
With numerous publications to his name, Dr. Nassar continues to actively contribute to the advancement of fetal medicine, demonstrating his ongoing commitment to the improvement of prenatal care and outcomes for expectant mothers and their babies.
