Dr. Afshin PourMirza, a German Board-certified Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, is a distinguished figure in the field of Fetal Medicine. He received his medical degree from Heinrich Heine University in Duesseldorf, followed by a PhD from the German Center for Diabetes Research.
In 2002, Dr. PourMirza established a pioneering Fetal Medicine Clinic in Sharjah, UAE. He fostered new levels of collaboration between numerous obstetricians and gynecologists, both across the private and government sectors.
Pursuing his vision further, in 2006, the Fetal Medicine and Genetic Center was inaugurated followed by the Feto Maternal & Genetyx Center in Dubai Healthcare City in 2015. Dr. Afshin PourMirza’s facility is dedicated to delivering unparalleled patient care for routine as well as high-risk pregnancies.
Renowned for his proficiency in ultrasound and prenatal diagnosis, Dr. PourMirza’s clinical focus encompasses comprehensive management of high-risk pregnancies and advanced genetic testing for chromosomal and genetic disorders. With over 10,000 procedures performed since 1996, he is widely recognised as a preeminent beacon of excellence within the field.
With his dedication to the advancement and sharing of knowledge and the pursuit of ever higher standards of care, Dr. PourMirza actively participates in research, education initiatives and advocacy for fetal medicine.
He regularly organises educational events such as the International Conference on Obstetrics, Fetal Medicine and Gynaecology.
